Employment Specialist

 

 

Location: Miami-Dade

Status: Full-Time

Position Overview: The Employment Specialist develops relationships with employers to create internship and job opportunities for students and participants in Dan Marino Foundation (DMF) and Marino Campus (MC) programs.  This position also assists individuals with developmental disabilities to create and implement a plan to successfully obtain and maintain a competitive employment position.  The Employment Specialist provides job coaching during internship assignments and during initial periods of employment.  The Employment Specialist reports directly to the Lead Employment Specialist.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of successful experience in counseling, job placement, job coaching or a public vocational rehabilitation program is required. At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities providing job coaching experience is preferred. Equivalent experience in lieu of education will be considered.


Peer Mentor

 

Location: Broward & Miami-Dade

Status: Part-Time

Position Overview: The Peer Mentor will assist Marino Campus Students who are young adults with developmental disabilities by supporting their career development during internships. The mentor supports students in the classroom and on the job site. This position is responsible for assisting the student in learning the interpersonal skills necessary to be successful as an employee on a job site.

Various part-time shifts are available Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00am-3:00pm. The Mentor will work 5-15 hours per week.

Must have own transportation, a valid driver’s license and flexibility for travel within Broward County

Education/Experience: High school diploma required. Work experience in education or with people with developmental disabilities preferred.


Job Coach

Location: Miami-Dade

Status: Part-Time

Position Overview:  The Job Coach assists Marino Campus students by supporting their career development during multiple internship assignments. This position oversees students and provides coaching as they gain work experience at employer business sites in Miami-Dade County. The Job Coach is responsible for assisting the student in learning to perform job tasks to the employer expectations and applying the interpersonal skills necessary to be accepted as a worker at the job site. The Job Coach reports to the Career Services Director.

Education/Experience:  High school diploma required. Work experience in education or with people with developmental disabilities preferred.


Campus Administrator

Location: Miami-Dade

Status: Full-Time

Position Overview: The Campus Administrator creates a welcoming atmosphere at Marino Campus and directs students and visitors appropriately; assisting staff with administrative needs; maintaining building security procedures, and acting as a liaison with other Marino Campus locations. The position also provides direct administrative support to the Executive Director of Schools and Employment Programs and supports a variety of campus activities.

Education/Experience: Associates Degree (preferred). 3 - 5 years of experience working in an office as a receptionist with administrative support and customer service responsibilities. Experience working with school-aged children or young adults with disabilities preferred. Bilingual (Spanish), & excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish required.
